Tis the season to have COLDS....ugh

After the boy I watch picked up a cold from somewhere...Lucy and I were bound to get it.  It's so sad to hear her breathing and not being able to do much about it (Daddy and I thinks she sounds like a bulldog).

Getting some much needed snuggle time in.
We woke up and this is how her hair was.  I couldn't help but laugh because this picture just shows how miserable she is feeling.

This shirt was drenched all day because she couldn't breathe through her nose--so it was drool central
After waking up from nap, Mommy got snuggle time in (but I can never take pictures because I'm always afraid I will disturb her).  After she decided she was done snuggling and wanted to play, she still used her blanket for snuggling.  Doesn't she look so cute?
Yep..her hair is still crazy!

One Happy Girl

Lucy loves to be on the wood floor at the M's (where I nanny).  I think it is because it is slick and she can roll and scoot with no problem!  Do you see her new "I'm SO excited!) face with the tongue sticking out and the face scrunched up?? It's my favorite!
Later, we went outside to play and it was really windy.  Lucy had the best time watching the trees blowing and feeling it in her hair.

Lemon Face

We were at Applebees on Sunday to enjoy a nice relaxing lunch after church...but Lucy had a different idea.  For some reason she decided she wanted to be cranky half way through.  To distract her for a little bit, we thought it was time for the LEMON!

                                 Obviously...she wasn't a fan.

Still hard to believe she is our Daughter

A lot of times, Daniel and I, still, just sit there and stare at Lucy in amazement that she is our daughter.  Everyday we thank God for blessing us with her.  It's so amazing how things become so much more exciting with Lucy in our life.

Talking with Daddy. She loves him so much!

Watching the Mizzou game together.  Lucy is liking snuggle time more and more (as long as she has her bunny).
We love you so much Lucy and thank God for you everyday.  You truly are one amazing little girl :)

6 Month Checkup

This week, Lucy had her 6-month checkup at the doctors.  For those who didn't hear by now, Daddy had to get surgery on his arm last Friday.  Everything went well, but obviously he can't use his arm for a while.  With Mommy needing to be at work,  Daddy asked our friend Anthony if he could help him take Lucy to the Doctor.

This is before they left.  We really are SOOOO thankful for Anthony as he has helped us out a ton!  I really wished I could have been there in the Doctors office.  We told Anthony it would be good practice for him, though, because him and his wife our having a baby in January!  Here's to two men and a baby :)
Daddy and Anthony said Lucy did awesome at the doctors and did so well when she got her shots.  I know its silly, but I was worried because everyone keeps telling us (even random people on the street as we take walks) that Lucy is a huge baby--"Wow--that's a really BIG baby".  Apparently, though, she is only in the 50% in weight, and 60% in height.  She does have a big head though and always has (80%). Even if she was in the much higher percentile, I would still love her (and her squishy body :)) the same
After we got home at night, we are always worried about how she'll do later with the shots.  She was one happy clam.  She sat on the floor with Daddy and played so hard

6 Months!

Our little girl turned 6 months this week and it's so hard to believe!!!  Unfortunately, she got a fever the day she turned six months so a lot of the pictures I took, she looks miserable.
In the morning getting ready.  She just wanted to snuggle a lot this morning, which should have been my first sign that something wasn't right.
Going on a walk during the day.  This is about the only smile I got out of her all day.  She definitely was not herself.  She's still pretty adorable though :)
This is a "Momma...please stop taking
pictures of me.  I don't feel well."
Even though she wasn't feeling well (and we still have no idea why), Mommy did get lots of snuggling in which doesn't happen very often. It was also fun to see that when we got home, Lucy was all smiles for Daddy. Daddy didn't believe me when I told him she was sick.

Rainy Day Blues

We really needed the rain in St. Louis and today God poured the rain on us.  It rained ALL day and I loved getting to sit inside and hear it.  Because we are used to going on walks everyday, the kids (Lucy and the boy I watch) were a little stir crazy.  Lucy was being very silly in this picture but she regularly has her tongue sticking out. Also--see the socks she's wearing?  I always loved those socks and I was so excited to get them when Lucy was born.  When I put them on her feet this morning, she just kept pulling them off.
She loves her exersaucer.  She hasn't quite figured out how to jump in it yet, but she does play with all the toys and squeal when in it.
We built a wall up around the boy I watch.  He thought it was the coolest thing ever! Then he knocked all of them down and Lucy just laughed and stared at them as they were falling!
Our tired little girl...

Did we mention that we love weekends??

This past weekend we got lots of hang out time with our little girl.  Isn't she so cute??
On Sunday we went to Daniel's cousin's (Gavin) football game.  Aunt Nancy wanted to hold Lucy and Lucy was all for it--that is until her son, Gavin, scored a touchdown and Aunt Nancy decided to jump and scream while still holding Lucy.  She definitely was not a big fan of that!
After the game we let Uncle Andrew push Lucy in the stroller back to the car after he admitted to us one day that he LOVES to push strollers around. He told us he sometimes wants to go and grab people's strollers at malls just so he can do it.  We told him he could come and push Lucy around in the stroller any time he wanted.
After the Football game, we went over the Corks house for dinner and hang out time.  Lucy LOVES her Aunt Kelly and Uncle Andrew. She got some snuggles in and Uncle Andrew walked around with her and sang some songs to her.  I really just have to say that I love having family close for weekends like these.

Baby...Baby...Baby Signing Time!

We love Saturday mornings in the Potts home. We get to sleep in (even though it's just until 7:30) and take our time waking up.  Because Lucy has been so excited to watch Baby Signing Time, we decided to put it on.  She loves all the bright colors and the babies!  For you that are wondering...Lucy is just in a diaper because Mommy found Lucy this morning in her crib with her diaper off and pee all over her PJs. :) Yep!  That's our girl!

Green Beans....um....

When I first saw this face, I couldn't stop laughing.  She is not sure about those green beans.

When did this happen??

I remember LOTS of people telling us when Lucy was first born, "Take it all in and enjoy every moment because it goes by way too fast!"  How many times did I hear this and not realize it until she's almost six months old.  It's also so weird to think of her as a tiny little baby that just slept all the time now.  Especially now that she can smile and laugh. There were so many times that Lucy was crying and Daniel and I had no idea what to do.  Being so overwhelmed as first time parents, we sometimes wished she was older and could tell us what she wanted.  I have enjoyed all the little moments with our precious little girl and look forward to so many things with her.  Being a mom is really the best gift that anyone could give me :)

Sitting up!

Our little girl is sitting up all by herself!  It's amazing how big she looks when she is, too.  Daddy's favorite game is to put her on the bed and blow at her until she gets so excited she falls over.  We have had a few tumbles on the ground when we forgot to put the boppy behind her--and I always feel TERRIBLE, but then five minutes later she is smiling.  Stop growing up Lucy Lou!
