7 Months!

7 Months seemed to FLY by for Lucy.  Now as I'm writing this, she is 8 months! (WHAT?!)  Here are some of the things and some fun pictures from the seventh month!

Her new hairstyle (doesn't she look like she should be in who-ville)
                                                            LOVE

Yep-our little girl is mobile.  She hasn't quite figured out how to move on her hands and knees yet. She can get on them like in this picture but she usually gives up and army crawls to wherever she wants to be

Our little girl is quite the pig lately. She eats so much! She also has figured out how to pick things up in front of her and bring them to her mouth.  We can't seem to get food in front of her fast enough!

I love these two. I could watch them together all day!

Our little (for not much longer I'm afraid) girl :)

Branson and Silver Dollar City

To let Daddy study without distractions, Mommy and Lucy went with the family to Branson for the weekend.  Everyone was there except Daddy and Chad (missed them both!) but we did have some fun times.
Yes we have a naked baby here :)  This was after Lucy inhaled a whole banana! So instead of using 50 paper towels to clean her off we decided a bath would be much easier.  Mommy didn't get to take pictures of the bath because I was sitting in with Lucy to make sure she didn't slip around, but she did get to take a bath with cousins Addi and Josiah! She had a great time!
                                                    Her Christmas Dress

                                                            Cousins
I also didn't take pictures of our child at Silver dollar city because lets just say that it was one stressful night.  Apparently the weekend we went is the worst weekend to go.  I already don't do very well with crowds but then you add one cranky, overstimulated, and tired baby in there means that there were NO PICTURES!
The last day we had to get a picture of all the cousins in the big rocking chair.  Can you tell that this is when Lucy was working on those two teeth?

Overall, it was so fun getting to see everyone and get away.  Lucy did AWESOME in the 4 hour car ride (slept most of the time) and did AWESOME (besides Silver Dollar City) while we were there.

Two Teeth!!

It has been a while since I have put anything up mostly for two reasons.  Camera was dead and I couldn't seem to remember to charge it and I have been trying so hard to get pictures of Lucy's TWO TEETH!

As she was eating one day, I noticed something white (thinking it was only my imagination).  I put my finger in and was completely shocked by something sharp.  The next day we discovered there were TWO teeth in that little mouth.

It is so cute now when she smiles real big to see two little teeth peek through.  (This was the best picture I could get).

Happy Birthday (and Happy Halloween) Grandpa

Halloween was on Monday and while we did have the cutest little pumpkin ever, Halloween just wasn't the same this year.  I really tried to get exited for this holiday because it was the first Halloween where we would have the potential to hand out candy to trick or treaters and it was Lucy's first (like she really noticed)...but something just didn't seem right.

Every year as kids, my family would participate in the normal Halloween adventures.  Get dressed in a much anticipated costume, stop at the neighbors for home made treats, and then go on to the Lutheran church where we played games and did trunk or treat.  We really had a blast.   At the same time, we always knew that Halloween meant that it was time to wish a special man a Happy Birthday, even though it was over the phone most of the years.

That special man is our Grandpa.  His birthday is on Halloween which made is easy for all of kids to remember!  We always thought he had the coolest birthday!  As many of you know, Grandpa wouldn't get to see another birthday this year.  After being diagnosed with stomach cancer in January, he would get to meet Jesus and stop fighting the disease in May.

It seemed more appropriate to share with you (and Lucy and future children when they get older) my Grandpa.  The generous, kind, and amazing man of God he was.  This is what I will remember most about Halloweens and I hope that our children in the future can also hear about all the fun times we had with him.
Because Grandma and Grandpa lived in Arizona where it is always warm, we have LOTS of memories swimming with them.

There are also lots of memories of Grandma and Grandpa coming to visit us in Idaho.  Because they didn't get to see snow very often, it was always SO fun getting to play in the snow with them.  Grandpa was definitely a kid at heart
He was a family man and made our family always excited to be together

This picture makes me laugh just looking at it because Grandpa LOVED sweets.  I remember lots of times as kids him sneaking sweets.  He also would tell us (when Mom or Grandma wasn't listening) that the best breakfast was cake!  Thanks for that great word of advice, Grandpa!
Loved it when he was kidding around

Meeting Lucy for the first time.  So happy we got to get out there and share in that joyous time.

We will miss you Grandpa but I know that every Halloween from here on, we will remember.  We will ALWAYS take a second in the craziness of trick or treating and dressing up to say Happy Birthday and remember all the fun times we had together. Love you.
